International Indigenous Mobility Programme @ UM
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The notions of indigeneity and modernity has been an ongoing scholarly discourse, and Indigenous people have been cast as the ideal types representing a phenomenon of traditional fading into certain transformations. These transformations sometimes brought a crisis in their culture, identity, practices and belief. Despite all these challenges, Indigenous communities in Malaysia still hold their tradition and cultural practices with a certain level of outside influence to adapt as a strategy for continuation. This programme attempts to expose students to experience the contentment of Indigenous people especially Indigenous youth in learning, retaining and adapting their tradition.
