• Semester 1 (October - February) | Fall Semester
• Semester 2 (March - July) | Spring Semester

• Semester 1, 2025/2026 (Fall Semester): 13 October 2025 - 22 February 2026
• Semester 2, 2025/2026 (Spring Semester): 27 April 2026 - 19 July 2026

1. Enrolled as an active student (Undergraduate/Postgraduate Coursework) in home university
2. Have completed at least one semester of study in home university
3. Have good academic standing with a CGPA of not less than 3.0 or equivalent
4. Have good English proficiency in speaking and writing
5. Nominated by the home university through the nomination form provided by UM

Students must have acquired either one of the following:

1. IELTS (Academic): Band 6
2. TOEFL iBT: 80
3. TOEFL cBT: 214
4. ITOEFL pBT: 550
5. TOEFL ITP: 550
6. TOEIC: 690
7. CEFR: B2

A Support/Recommendation Letter issued by the Home University's Coordinator to confirm the student's English proficiency will be sufficient in the absence of the certificate.

There are two deadlines each year: 

• Semester 1 (Fall Semester): 30 April (Nomination) | 31 May (Application)
• Semester 2 (Spring Semester): 30 September (Nomination) | 31 October (Application)

Tuition Fee:

• Partner University Students: Per agreement
• Non-Partner Students: MYR 10,000 per semester.

Processing Fee:

• Fee amount is MYR 750 per semester.

This is a mandatory fee for all students who participate in the mobility programme. Kindly note that students will only be required to make payment for the above-mentioned upon arrival to UM. There will be no application fee incurred during the application.

Accommodation Fee [Pay Upon Arrival]

• On-campus Residential College: ± MYR 2,800 (appox. USD 670) per semester
• Off-campus Private Residential: ± MYR 1,500/month - MYR 3,300/month (appox. USD3 60/month - USD 800/month)

3. Post-arrival Medical Screening 

The charges for the above-mentioned matter are as per the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). You may estimate the above costing using the EMGS Calculator. 

Cost of Living

In general, students will spend approximately MYR1,000 per month including transportation, meals, entertainment, etc. The mentioned amount is solely an estimation based on average spending. The estimation might be varied depending on the spending behavior of the students
